Truck Delivery for Oversized Orders
At BARR Plastics, we carry many large and bulky products that can’t be shipped through regular postal services like Canada Post. To make sure your order arrives safely and efficiently, we arrange third-party truck delivery across Canada and the U.S. using trusted freight carriers.
How It Works
Step 1: We Gather the Right Details
Before organizing delivery, our team will collect a few key details from you:
- Full name or business name and contact info
- Delivery address and any special access notes (e.g., gates or limited hours)
- Preferred delivery date(s)
- Is the delivery address a residential or commercial location?
- Equipment available at your site (e.g., forklift, liftgate)
- On-site contact person and their phone number
- Item dimensions and total weight
This helps us understand what kind of truck and equipment will be needed, and ensures a smoother, faster delivery.
Step 2: We Get a Shipping Quote for You
Once we have the delivery details, we reach out to third-party freight carriers to get competitive quotes based on:
- Distance to your location
- Size and weight of the shipment
- Delivery requirements (e.g., liftgate, remote location, crane)
- Urgency (from “no rush” to “need it ASAP”)
- Does the customer have the equipment or ability to offload the delivery (e.g., forklift, pallet jack, loading dock)?
- In some cases, especially in remote areas, we can also arrange delivery to a local depot for pickup instead of direct-to-door. Let us know if this is a better fit for you.
This shipping cost will be added to your quote before you finalize your order—so there are no surprises. If your order needs to ship in multiple trucks, we’ll let you know and provide updates for each shipment.
Step 3: We Handle the Pickup & Keep You Updated
When the carrier arrives to pick up your order:
- We make sure they have the correct paperwork
- Our team takes photos of the shipment for peace of mind
- We stay in touch with the freight provider and pass along tracking info and updates to you, especially if anything changes

Prefer to handle pickup yourself? You can select Free Local Pickup at our Abbotsford, BC location during checkout. We’ll prepare your order within 1–2 business days and notify you when it’s ready.
Pickup Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm (adjusted to allow more flexibility for late-afternoon pickups).

Delivery insurance is optional and can be added for specialty loads to protect against mishaps or transit damage.
